Latin Dance in the IE: Salsa, Bachata y Más!

I was first introduced to latin dance on June 29, 2014, the day I took a beginner lesson with Salsafama. I was instantly hooked and social danced everywhere I went. Including in Madrid, Spain where I lived for 3 years. I remember sometimes dancing 7 days a week! When I came back to California in 2018, I became an instructor with Salsafama and enjoyed supporting their events. In 2020, many dance socials halted due to the pandemic. I did instagram dance challenges and even went to online dance socials to keep my dance life alive 😅. As life transitioned back to “normal”, I had the opportunity to teach dance and fitness at G-Force Fitness Center. I had a desire to see the Latin dance scene grow in the Inland Empire, which inspired the creation of The Salsa Lab. On April 11, 2022, The Salsa Lab had our FIRST event at Memelli Sports Bar and it was a success! Shout out to instructor Jerry Stevens and DJ Felix who were a big part of The Salsa Lab’s origin story. I’m so grateful I’ve gotten to learn from and work with amazing people, have made many new friends, been inspired, grown in confidence, and have become connected to the world wide, ever growing community of latin dance.  

Latin dancing has been such a blessing in my life as it has brought me freedom, healing, and beautiful friendships. It is so rewarding to push through the challenge of learning something new and developing the confidence to lay it all out on the dance floor. Latin dancing gives the continual opportunity to free yourself as you "dance like nobody's watching". Aside from Latin dancing, I am passionate about mental health, personal development, learning, and traveling. I've been Latin dancing for 9 years and I see it as always being a part of my life.

I launched my career as a professional DJ over 15 years ago in Los Angeles, CA. a native from Mexico City, I was born on September 10th, a true Virgo! Growing up in a latin music environment, I had to fulfill my insatiable appetite to DJ, with quick success and an accelerated work ethic I established myself firmly on the international and local dance scene. I am a mastermind in anticipating what patrons want and need. My amazing talent on the decks always whips the crowd into frenzy and creates the sort of excitement that will keep customers wanting more. I cover various styles of latin  music from salsa to reggaeton, whether I'm performing at a salsa congress locally or Internationally with thousands of spectators or at a high energy nightclub, or at a prestigious event, no matter what the occasion is, I'm continually commended for making any event a major success.

Hello! My name is Marvin Argueta and I’m one of the instructor here at the salsa lab! I started dancing bachata and salsa back in 2015-2016 and have been doing ever since. The art of dancing is something that has always called my attention since o was very little and wanted to take a step further by not only being able to learn to dance myself, but to also spread the knowledge to other people! With that being said; come check us out and be ready to learn some smooth moves!

Hey ! I’m Linsear Alexis garcia quezada !!! Or as some people know me, just Alex 🙂 I’m 28 years and I have great love for social dancing. I started doing it maybe 4-5 years ago as a way to get out of my head and into my body. Years later and I still have trouble getting out of my head from time to time but I’ve improved a ton! There’s so much to be gained in the social dance community! Practically all of my current friend group comes from it. The whimsy curious nature that came when I first took social dance is still there for me, I love that I still get excited for a night of dance. There’s so much to be learned and I look forward to grow as a dancer and person along with salsa lab ! I have been passionate about dance and the arts since I was 8. I started out learning tap, jazz & hiphop then in college pursued a dance minor in the contemporary arts along with my teacher credentials. I’ve been an educator for the past 10 years and love working with students in the elementary & HS setting. Candace introduced me to social dancing in 2019 and I love how it allows dance to be part of my life. I enjoy learning different styles and techniques in both salsa & bachata. But my favorite part of this dance journey has to be the community I’ve grown to love.
